As a "Consumer Reporting Agency", TenantSafe is required to obtain and verify the identity of its "End-Users" and the "Permissible Purpose" for their acquisition and use of "Consumer Reports", as such terms are defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. During the application and setup process, TenantSafe will request information concerning you and your residential rental property business in order to meet these FCRA and other compliance requirements.

Effective early 2007, in order to access a full credit report from any of the repositories the federally regulated credit bureaus require a site inspection of your principal office or residence (if you have a home office).

For those who do not wish or do not meet the requirements for such an inspection TenantSafe has developed a recommendation tool called The XpresSCORE Report that will still allow you to check your prospective tenant’s credit and to ensure that your standards are met.
